  1. Starman says: Come and join us!!What is Deaf Celebration? The 15th Deaf Celebration is an exciting event that brings deaf and hearing communities together. Over 20 exhibitors will have booths consisting of: hobbies, arts and crafts, home businesses, deaf culture info, technologies, memorabilia, government, interpreting, education, seminars and much more! We will have some exciting day entertainment for the children and adults and night entertainment for the adults.
  2. Is it true that Deaf Celebration used to be Deaf Awareness Week and Victory Day?
    Yes, it used to be called Deaf Awareness Week and Victory Day some years ago. We do not do the week-long activities anymore.
  3. Is Deaf Celebration a tax exempt non-profit organization?  Is it incorporated?
    Yes, Deaf Celebration is the incorporated, tax-exempt, non-profit organization in Texas. If you need more information, please contact one of our Deaf Celebration Board members.
  4. Is the name "Deaf Celebration" a trademark? Yes, we got it trademarked in 2000.
  5. Is Deaf Celebration a family-oriented event? It is definitely yes during the daytime!
  6. Can tickets be purchased at the door for the social night?
    Yes, on the day of the event. Cash or money-order only.
  7. Is ATM machine available nearby?  Yes, there is one ATM machine in the Plano Centre building.
  8. Is a TTY available inside Plano Centre?  Yes, you will need to request the TTY at the Plano Centre office in the back of the building.
  9. Are we selling tickets before September 27th?  No, but it can be purchased at the door during the day of the event..
  10. Will there be a children's area?  Yes, there will be a jumping house, face painting, and daytime family-friendly performances.
  11. Do we offer childcare?  No, we are not responsible for child care. Parents are required to supervise their kids.
  12. Can I bring my friend who does not know sign language?  Yes, the event is open to the public. Please bring your family, friends and co-workers with you.
  13. Is Deaf Celebration selling t-shirts again this year?  No, we will not sell the t-shirts this year.  
  14. Will there be food and drinks?  Plano Centre has a concession stand inside. There are several restaurants near Plano Centre. The cash bar will be set up during the social night.
  15. Will the event be interpreted and captioned? Yes, there will be interpreter services during the day exhibition.  No captioning services will be provided.
  16. Is there a charge for parking lot at Plano Centre?
    No, the parking is free.
  17. What is Plano Centre’s address? Plano Centre is located at 2000 E. Spring Creek Parkway, Plano, Texas 75074.
  18. Is it easy to find Plano Centre?  Yes, Plano Centre is on E. Spring Creek Parkway, right between Ave K and Jupiter Road. You can find the directions and map by clicking here.
  19. Is there a hotel that Deaf Celebration had an agreement with near Plano Centre for the participants to reserve?  No, but we have added the list for hotels for you to contact.
  20. Can we have more than two person be working at the booth?  Yes, you can but only two people will get the complimentary passes.
  21. Can we have more than two booths? Yes; however, there will be no special discounts for having multiple booths.
  22. Can I request additional table in same booth? Yes, it will be extra $50 per table.
  23. Does the Plano Centre offer High Speed Internet?
    Yes, Plano Centre has the wireless capabilities in the conference rooms.
  24. Can I join Deaf Celebration Team?
    Yes! Volunteers are always welcome to join aboard the team.  Please contact one of the Deaf Celebration Board members by email. The email address is info@deafcelebration.com.
  25. What should I do if I have some great ideas or want to share my suggestions and/or concerns?  We will be happy if you share your feedback with us! Please email to our Deaf Celebration Chair, Henry Whalen at info@deafcelebration.com.
